A conversation about love, grief, and Kayleigh’s light that continues to shine.

This August, we had the honor of sharing our story on The Surviving Siblings Podcast.
It was incredibly meaningful to record this episode together as surviving siblings – Elizabeth, Avery (Roger), and Ryan – and reflect on life with our sister, Kathryn “Kayleigh” Thurgaland, and the moments that changed everything.
It wasn’t easy to revisit those details. But showing up for each other, and for Kayleigh, allowed us to share a fuller picture of who she is – through each of our voices.
Earlier this year, I attended Maya Roffler’s virtual Surviving Siblings Summit, a beautifully curated gathering with over 20 speakers and more than 100 grieving siblings coming together to learn, share, and connect. Maya’s voice and mission has helped so many grieving siblings feel seen. I highly recommend the summit, and next time, we plan to attend together.

Kayleigh’s music, dance, and art continue to speak, offering glimpses of the love and light she carries.
Her creativity has always been one of the truest parts of her.
For the first time, we’ve shared a few of her songs publicly:
