A Special Honor for the KLT Foundation
~ Todd Thurgaland
October marks six years since we lost our beloved Kayleigh and five years since we introduced the Kathryn Leigh Thurgaland Foundation to our community.
In those five years, through your generosity, we've provided over $100,000 in support to 29 grieving families and awarded $62,000 in college scholarships to eight deserving students.
On October 20, we were humbled and deeply honored to receive an official proclamation from the City of Belleview, recognizing the KLT Foundation's service to our community.
What began as a family's unimaginable loss has grown into a legacy of love, compassion, and opportunity. And none of it would be possible without YOU — the friends, donors, volunteers, and neighbors who continue to believe in our mission.

This recognition belongs to all of us. 💛
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us carry Kayleigh's light forward.
We hope you'll join us for the 6th Annual Love of Life Festival on Saturday, March 6, 2027, at The Grand Oaks Resort in Weirsdale, Florida.
May God bless the families navigating grief and the students pursuing their dreams.
Kayleigh's love lives on through every life we touch. 🦋💛

Love of Life Festival 2027: Exciting Things Are Taking Shape!

Planning is well underway for the 6th Annual Love of Life Festival, returning to The Grand Oaks Resort in Weirsdale, Florida, on Saturday, March 6, 2027!
We're excited to welcome several new musical acts to the stage, including Gypsy Sparrow, Humans in Disguise, Magi, and Propaganjah, with more announcements to come!
One of our most exciting additions for 2027 is the participation of nonprofit organizations whose work supports families, encourages creativity, and strengthens community connections. Inspired in part by feedback from past festival attendees, we're introducing our Community Spotlight series and are pleased to welcome Cornerstone Hospice / Cornerstone's Kids and The Dandelion Project as our first participating organizations.
Vendor registration is underway, with a growing variety of food trucks, artisans, and local businesses preparing to join us. We're also reaching out to returning and new sponsors whose generosity helps make this special day possible.
The Love of Life Festival continues to grow, but its purpose remains the same: bringing people together through music, art, remembrance, and the celebration of life.
Mark your calendars for March 6, 2027!Â
Admission is Pay What You Wish.

Featured Book: The Rocking Chair Prophet ~ Matthew Kelly
~ Jodell Thurgaland

In The Rocking Chair Prophet, Matthew Kelly tells the story of Daniel, a man whose life is forever changed by tragedy. Overwhelmed by loss, Daniel retreats from the world, eventually emerging with a new perspective on life, relationships, and what truly matters.
The story explores grief, love, forgiveness, and the search for meaning after experiencing profound loss.
Through Daniel's journey and the conversations he shares with others, readers are encouraged to reflect on their own lives and the things they sometimes take for granted.
I enjoyed the book and found many of its messages thoughtful and meaningful, particularly those about navigating difficult experiences and appreciating the people in our lives. However, toward the end, I felt the storytelling became a little too focused on delivering life lessons, making parts of it feel somewhat preachy.
Despite that, I think The Rocking Chair Prophet is worth reading. It offers opportunities for reflection and reminds us that even when life changes in ways we never imagined, love, relationships, and the memories we carry remain important parts of our journey.
